Thrombophlebitis

Thrombophlebitis (from-boe-flush-BY-this) is an inflammatory condition in which a blood clot forms in one or more veins, often in the legs. The afflicted vein may be on the skin’s surface (superficial thrombophlebitis) or deep inside a muscle (deep thrombophlebitis) (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT).
